It's always such a special treat for me to document Indian weddings. It's especially nice when I see many familiar faces from past weddings. This was the case with Divya and Zach's wedding. But perhaps the best treat of all, was seeing the two of them perform to their closest friends and family the night before their wedding at the Sangeet. Divya on the bass, and Zach on guitar; they harmonized together - a perfect match! They totally nailed it and that set the tone for the rest of the weekend! I felt so grateful the first time I documented an Indian wedding; and that couple was there at Divya and Zach's celebration along with their two beautiful children. And over the years as I've matured (well, in some ways), I sense an even stronger spiritual connection. It's not just with Indian weddings and it's hard to explain, but it's being extremely present, and in the moment. There are very spiritual things that are spoken under the Mundap, and it's hearing these things over time that have reinforced the connection. I have to admit that at one point as the families embraced, I nearly lost it! Yeah, I began to well up, but hey, I still got the shot! Divya and Zach, I can't thank you enough for the great performances, and heart felt connections that weekend. Congrats to you both!
A few days ago, I met up with Tyler, Alex and their 1 year old dog, Nolan. We went to Nolan's regular stomping ground - Heard Pond in Wayland. It's essentially an amusement park for any type of hunting dog! While he only stayed for a short while, I was impressed that Nolan was able to contain his excitement and stand still for a few photos; nice work, buddy! The rest of the time was spent with Tyler and Alex. They're one of those couples that can make each other laugh very easily. There is definitely no shortage of chemistry! I know their wedding is going to be so much fun, and I hear that Nolan is on the guest list!
Kate, Ben and I managed to find an opening in the weather this past weekend to take their engagement photos. We decided to meet up at their stomping ground - Charlestown! So much history, and no shortage of options for photos. Plus, when one is blessed with such amazing clients, it makes what you do just seem like play time! Such a fun couple; I can't wait for their wedding at the Barn at Gibbet Hill later this summer! #funcouple #bostonweddingphotographer #michaeljcharles #Charlestown #engagementshoot
We had so much fun at Jessica and Tim's wedding in Worcester! At times during the day, I couldn't help but feel like I had been transported back in time. I know, it sounds crazy, but everything about this couple just felt classic and timeless. Hosting both their ceremony and reception at Mechanics Hall; a music hall that was built over 150 years ago with beautifully restored architecture and paintings, only further cemented this feeling. Mechanics Hall has been noted as having near perfect acoustics and that was appreciated during both the ceremony and reception! Jessica and Tim went with an art deco theme which was reflected in the menus, favors, flower arrangements; cake topper and dessert platters. There was also traditional Albanian dancing, showered by dollar bills thrown by guests. But perhaps the highlight of the night was when Tim's ten year old nephew got on stage and performed. I mean, what an incredible way to start your career! This kid is going places and we can all say we heard him perform in one of the greatest halls; at another day and time, way back when…
