I first met Sonya while documenting her brother, Nik's wedding 6 years ago! I've had the opportunity to capture so many Indian weddings since. What made Sonya's and Christopher's so cool was that we started things off at a Catholic church. Later on, there was an Indian ceremony and a formal reception. Do the math girls, that's not one, not two, but three dresses!!! Yes, that's right, and Sonya looked amazing in all three! From my perspective, it just gave us even more opportunities for images. While all three dress were beautiful, I have to say my personal favorite was the one she wore during the Indian ceremony. The colors, details and timeless quality is out of this world. And if you've ever picked one of these dresses up, you would be shocked at the weight! I think the reception dress may have weighed the most. Check out samples below. It was a real treat seeing Sonya's family again after all of these years. And I have to say in the first few minutes hanging out with Christopher's family, I felt like an old friend. A big congrats to Sonya and Christopher!
Lauren and Andrew- Better Weather Shoot, Newport, RI
Lauren and Andrew first got in touch with me after viewing my work from a wedding I documented at The Castle Hill Inn in Newport. At the time, they weren't sure where they were going to host their wedding celebration but they knew they wanted to work with me. And I was very flattered of course. Soon after that they decided to book their wedding at the Castle Hill Inn. They knew it had a lot of possibilities for photographs. Fast forward to their wedding day, and it rained. And not just a little rain, it was actually a Nor'Easter on October 29th. It turned out to be the worst storm the area would see all fall and winter season. No pressure on me at all, right? Well, you know what? Lauren, Andrew, friends and family all decided to have a blast anyway! The couple even ran out into the 50 mph gusts and rain to take photos with us! I've never seen a bride so excited to get outside and shoot! Later that night as everyone was dancing I leaned over to Lauren and said, "we'll come back for more photos!" This past week we did just that! And as it turns out, Lauren and Andrew also purchased their first home together on the day of our shoot. I think this is a special date of it's own which they won't soon forget. Congrats again guys!
Lindsay and Ryan's wedding at OceanCliff in Newport, RI
A few weeks back I shared a few sample images from Lindsay and Ryan's wedding on my Facebook Fan Page and thought I'd post them here as well. Over the past year I've had a great time getting to know both Lindsay and Ryan. We met for their engagement shoot in Greenwich, CT and it was like hanging out with two good friends. Lots of good laughs, and great photo opportunities. Their wedding was no different! Lindsay had mentioned she was a designer who was passionate about antiques. She brought that vision and passion to their wedding with many period items from the 20's, 30's and 40's. Even her dress and hair style screamed vintage! Everyone had a great time. I don't think I saw both Lindsay and Ryan leave the dance floor that evening! Thanks so much for the invite and congratulations to you both!
